ladies day

Sunday 8th June, Ladies Day was held at the house of Jeanette Dodds, in Galston, Ayrshire. The day was organised by Jeanette, sisters Elizabeth and Barbara and sister-in-law Mary, all duly assisted by friends and family with a total of £1,315.25 being raised.
Over 50 guests arrived for the Garden Party, which was blessed with glorious sunshine. Events on the day were – Champagne welcome, followed by a brief film show and talk about Nepal, the people and details specific to Helambu region. This was followed by a buffet lunch and a cookery demonstration (Mary), as the afternoon passed raffles were sold, along with home made tablet (donated by Annie and May). Sample beauty treatments were on offer with 15% of the takings being given to the appeal.
All in all a great day was had by everyone, the sun shining certainly helped and comments of “what time next week, Jeanette” summed up the day. Jeanette, Barbara, Elizabeth and Mary would like thank everyone who came along, with special mention to Nan (who did the talk), Carol (Time to Relax, Kilmarnock) and Isabel (Oriflame).
