Celtic Cross Nursery, a local nursery for under-five's in Banchory, kindly volunteered to raise funds for the Project, with the school building particularly in mind.
In February 2008 the nursery staff all donated goods for a hamper raffle, which in turn raised £179. In March the children and staff baked and sold - delicious! - cakes and buns raising a further £140. Finally, on the 24th May the nursery held a Family Ceilidh at Woodend Barn to which mums and dads, children and staff all came along too. The raffle on the evening raised the final total to over £600.
In 2009, Celtic Cross raised further money with the Owl’s class (pre-school 4yr olds) undertaking a sponsored aerobics class. Over 25 children turned up on 31st February at Banchory Sport’s Centre for a busy hour of hard work! The whole event was organised by their teacher Miss Rachel Mair which raised over £400.

The children of this Banchory nursery volunteered to take part in a sponsored walk on the 1st July. Fortunately they were blessed with fine weather for their trek! Sandy Rough had dropped into the nursery the previous day to tell the children and staff all about how the children in Nepal live and what is planned with the project. The chance to wear some Nepalese hats also went down well! A fantastic total of 92 pounds was raised on the day.
Rosie Riley, Jemima Thompson and Hannah Graham (right) hosted a Country Cafe on the 28th June for all of their families with tasty home bakes and a raffle. A great day was had by all with the girls raising £181.
